Feb 26, 2008 · Okay, in the market for a chainsaw and want a Stihl due to closeness of dealer and past good luck with brand (trimmer / blower). Have it narrowed down to: Ms270 MS280 MS290 MS310 260 I realize this is a wide range, but only reason I lean away from the 290 and 310 is the weight. I plan to cut about 7 cords a year for home heat. Opinions. 6400 leaves you the ability to jump to 79-84cc on future. 6100 is better power to weight and better balanced for 60cc. Really just depends on what you want/need now or in the future. I currently have a 421 and an Echo 500p. I am a firewood hack but am in need of a saw with more power for felling and bucking.ArboristSite Guru. For the past 7 days I've been searching the internet for an owners manual for my "new" Homelite 240 chainsaw. 1&1 on the carb. Idle = 2800. Max = 12500. Idle speed + Spec / lean drop off = 3300. While pushing the nose (Reduces vaccum) into the bench top, pull the folower out with a pair of needle nose pliers. Pack with desired grease and then push the follower back into the tube.
